chantex worked amazing to reduce/elimainate physical withdrawal symptoms- but i do have a long history of severe depression, and the couple months i did take the drug drpression/mood was much worse. i narrowed it doen to the chantex, which i then stopped taking. but i did successfully quit smoking much less painfully than wiith nicoine sub. and cold turkey methods. i am a nurse, have no prior heart conditions; & would truely reccommend the drug- but only with careful support people helping to moniotr mood and bad thoughts, and to only use for as short a period as possible. Plus, since there is no generic- it is very expensive. But in the long run, I consider much cheaper and more effective than the other methods of quitting I've attempted during my 14 year addition - or esp. CONTINUING to smoke. Just make sure you disscuss adverse effects (as with any script) & are monitored/ok'd by Dr., no prior major heath conditions (especially cardiovascular esp., so I've been reading) that could be especially dangerous. But if these cardio. issues are present, it is definately completely dangerous to KEEP smoking, esp. women on birth control pill. Best of luck for everyone- and as always, there will be possible negative effects with any perscription drug- no matter how uncommon.
